About Wordybird Theatre

Candice trained in drama at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and graduated in 2000. In the UK she worked in TV, theatre and corporate role-play. She returned to Hong Kong in 2003 and is a Voice-over and dubbing artist/director. When she is not in the studio she works in theatre as an actress, director and voice coach. Recent roles include: Mrs Gobshka in The Overcoat (Theatre du Pif), Mrs Smith in Fame (Hong Kong Youth Arts Foundation), Daphne in Godspell (Lindsey McAlister Productions) and Mo in Flesh (Lindsey McAlister Productions). She has also worked with Faust International.

Daren trained as a graphic designer and worked with several advertising agencies in London as an Art Director. He then decided to move into a career in education and is currently a teacher at an international school in Hong Kong. The performing arts has always been a subject close to his heart and he has performed in several shows over the last two years: as Gilmer in Godspell (Lindsey McAlister Productions), Dr Frankenfurter in The Rocky Horror Show (Stylus Productions), and as Joss in Flesh (Lindsey McAlister Productions). He also sings for SOHO Collective (HK Rugby 7’s, Beatles Tribute.) and for the Kassia Men’s Chorus.

We set up Wordybird Theatre Company in 2007 to bring something bold, fresh and thought-provoking to the Hong Kong theatre scene!
